Sporting Locations

The idea of Bartley Reservoir being recreated as a 'sports village' was first proposed in 2009. Since then sports facilities and opportunities have continued to increase, so we think it is fitting to now promote all that is on offer around the reservoir to the Bartley Green community.

 

Water sports such as Sailing, Canoeing, Paddle Boarding, Foiling, and Windsurfing are available out of the Sailing Club. At Newman University there are discounted prices for Bartley Green residents to hire the gymnasium, to pay for court games, to hire the 3G football pitch, squash court, or to attend the gym.

 

At King Edward VI and Five Ways School you can hire out the swimming pool, sports hall as a whole for games like football, basketball, or cricket, or at a lesser cost for individual court sports like badminton and volleyball.  There is also an astro turf football pitch and outdoor netball and tennis courts for hire, whilst local recreation areas provide opportunities for  basketball, football, rounders, and rugby.
